Day Three
Our third and final day has found us traveling to Guatemala and Peru. We created Incan masks and worked on weaving on our looms! Thank you for a great group of kids and a great week!!! See you all in the fall.
Day Two
Our second day here at camp included a visit to Japan and the recent art of Gyodan (food sculpting) and to China for a celebration of the year of the Snake!
Day One!
We have started off strong at the Birches' Summer Art Camp! Our theme is "Art Around the World". Today we visited the Native American people and spent some time with two important art forms in their culture. Our first project was the creation of a beautiful dream catcher. The second was our own version of Native American patterns used in blankets, rugs and other weavings. Enjoy!
